Equal to the price of pain (poem)

In my dreams I have bat wings
and a tail of demonic kind
I arrived from a darkness
that I couldn't leave behind

I don't respond well to coffee
and my eyes turned green over night
An alien among other aliens
nothing has ever been right

The woman in the mirror
hides the man inside
My male gender
and my body collide

Traces of blood through my life
so much I've longed for a vacation
from the headache, awful memories
and total devastation

So many times in a row
my heart has been broken
No matter what I say
some things will be left unspoken

Trying to repair the damage
but only making it worse
And in order to survive
I have to live with my curse
